Dotzauer, 113 Exercises For Cello Bk 1 Nos. 1-34 (Peters)
Justus Johann Friedrich Dotzauer (1783-1860) was a famous cellist who played in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the orchestra of the Dresden Staatskappelle. He was part of the premieres of Wagner's operas Rienzi and The Flying Dutchman. Dotzauer's Violoncellschule (Cello School) and 113 Exercises are foundational pieces of educational cello literature. The first volume of the Exercises contains 34 progressive exercises and is part of the Edition Peters 'Green Series.
