Owens, William

William Owens (born 1963) is a music educator and composer known for his practical approach to composing music for young ensembles. Since 1993, he has written over 300 titles for concert bands, string orchestras, and small ensembles. His works are performed internationally and are featured on required music lists. William graduated from Chicago’s VanderCook College of Music and has received numerous awards for his compositions. After 30 years of service, he retired as a band director in Texas in 2014. He currently resides in Fort Worth, TX, with his wife, Georgia, and enjoys travelling and studying the history of the United States.
