Tonica Viola Strings
Pirastro's Tonica viola strings are manufactured using the same technology as the Thomastik Dominant strings. They have a synthetic core similar to the Dominants and are available in 3 gauges, with medium being the most commonly ordered gauge.
Many people who use the Dominant strings tend also to like the Tonicas. Some players have noted that the Dominants have a slightly brighter tone, while the Tonicas produce a slightly warmer sound. However, the difference in tone can also depend on other variables, such as the specific viola and the player's preferences.
