This Schmidt-style ebony chinrest fits 4/4 size violins with chrome fittings. It is made in Germany in the workshop of Reiner Wilfer. This is a uniquely shaped chinrest with the feature of being played either with a centre mount or slightly to the left. It has a medium cup that can mount over the tailpiece. The lip is rounded and soft on the chin. This chinrest generally sits over the tailpiece and can be screwed on using a chinrest tool (see recommended products).
To install:
As the product picture shows, loosen the brackets and rest the chinrest over the tailpiece.
Following this, insert the tip of the chinrest tool into one of the little holes on the bracket, and turn to tighten.
The Berber chin rest by Gewa is one of our most popular chin rests. It's a centre-mounted chin rest with a scooped side wing to allow the chin to move to the tailpiece's side.
