Made from a high-impact ABS plastic out shell bonded to an inner moulding manufactured from a unique blend of "High-tech" cellular foam, the Hiscox "Liteflite" case has incredible structural rigidity and will resist distortion even with the weight of an 85kg person standing on it.
A custom-designed aluminium valance extends into the base and lid. All latches, hinges, D rings and the main handle are riveted through the plastic outer shell and into this aluminium rim, adding strength and longevity. This valance design increases the case's rigidity and ensures a favourable location of the lid to the base when the case is closed.
This unique foam moulding is created within the shell and achieves an absolute chemical bond to the ABS and the inner cloth as it forms. The inner moulding is a semi-rigid cellular foam that is soft enough to cushion the most delicate instruments yet firm enough to provide incredible structural rigidity. No gaps or air pockets exist between the inner moulding and the outer shell. The chemical bonding will not break down in everyday use, thus maintaining the case's rigidity for many years.
The case structure has been designed to provide high shock absorption so that the outer shell will "give" or progressively collapse on impact, similar to modern motor car bumpers.
Exceptional thermal insulation is provided by the inner moulding, and this helps to protect your instrument from extremes of temperature.
