Originally composed for violin, Eccles Sonata for Double Bass and Piano is one of the standard works of the double bass repertoire.
Henry Eccles was an English composer of the Baroque era. This sonata is one of his twelve sonatas for violin and figured bass which were heavily influenced by the Italian composer Giovanni Valentini.
Tony Osborne has written a clear fresh accompaniment with piano accompaniments for both solo and orchestral tunings.
