Schoen, Moritz

Moritz Schoen (Schön) was a 19th-century Romantic-era composer and violin pedagogue whose works were closely connected with the study and development of violin technique. His music includes practical studies, exercises, instructional works, and engaging pieces for one or two violins, designed to help players develop technical confidence while maintaining a melodic and musical character. Works such as his A.B.C. des Violinspiels, Op. 32 and collections for young violinists reflect his strong emphasis on progressive violin education. Schoen’s sheet music remains particularly valuable for students and teachers seeking traditional Romantic-era material that combines technical development with enjoyable ensemble and solo playing.
