He composed Three Duets for Two Violas in Berlin around 1775, which inherited the contrapuntal style of his father and contributed significantly to Berlin's musical heritage. There is a cyclical connection among the duets, and Bach adapted the music to maintain harmonic and melodic balance between the two instruments.
