18th Century violinist-composer Pierre Gavinies, once described by Viotti as the "French Tartini," was certainly a violinist of great skill, if his virtuosity may be judged from his printed legacy. This is an Old German Violin made probably in Germany in the mid 19th century. Repaired professionally by Animato Strings and is now in very good playing condition.
