Bridge, Four Pieces for Cello and Piano (Faber) Edited by Julian Lloyd Weber (bowing and fingering) Pieces in this volume are Berceuse, Serenade, Elegie and Cradle Song These four works were written separately between 1901 and 1910. They have been printed in several arrangements from piano solo to full orchestra. However, they were originally written for cello and piano. Frank Bridge (26 February 1879 – 10 January 1941) was an English composer, violist and conductor. Bridge was an accomplished violist player and conductor of professional standard. His compositions have been unfortunately underrated. He was a student of Charles Villiers Stanford and in turn he taught Benjamin Britten. Britten composed an orchestral work based on Bridge's themes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu6hH95A0GY
