Franz Anton Hoffmeister (1754 – 1812), a German composer and music publisher from the Classical period, was known for his extensive work on the flute. He composed more than 25 concertos and chamber works where the flute had a leading role. He created these works considering the growing number of amateur musicians in Vienna.
