Otto Joseph Klier violin made in Bubenreuth Germany in 1998

This violin was created in Klier's workshop situated in Bubenreuth, Germany. The Klier family is a family of violin makers. It all started with Otto Josef’s father Johann Klier who set up his own workshop in Schönbach, Egerland in 1887. When his father died in 1918, Otto Josef, being the eldest son took over the business. Their workshop was able to create a wide range of products, particularly stringed instruments. Otto Josef died in 1961 at the age of 66. His widowed wife took over the business which was eventually passed down to their generations.
