Böhm, Karlheinz

Karlheinz Böhm (16 March 1928 – 29 May 2014) was a philanthropist and actor of Austrian and German descent. He appeared in 45 films and was most known in Austria and Germany for his portrayal as Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria in the Sissi film trilogy and internationally for his image of Mark, the psychotic protagonist in Michael Powell's Peeping Tom. He founded the trust Menschen für Menschen ("Humans for Humans"), which assists Ethiopians in need. In 2003, he was also granted honorary Ethiopian citizenship. Carl Boehm and Karl Boehm are two names for him.
