Important: The standard size for viola peg holes is 7.8mm, the same as that of a violin. However, for larger violas with regular peg holes, the size is 8.3mm (15" and bigger). Please note that 7.8mm, 8.3mm, and 9mm are the different diameters of the Peg Shenk in millimetres. If the viola is very old or the peg holes are overly large, a larger peg set must be fitted. If you are unsure, please choose 8.3 mm. If the pegs do not fit, we can easily replace them with another set, so there is no need to worry.
