Paesold 55Vc 3/4 Size Cello Bow
Roderich Paesold was a Bohemian bowmaker born in 1891. He came from a family whose business is all about musical stringed instruments. His grandfather Johann Carl Paesold, established their first family business in 1848, producing strings and trading musical instruments. His father also established a string and bow business.
Roderich later joined the family business after his apprenticeship. In 1919 Roderich established his own company, specialising in manufacturing bows and exporting musical instruments. His venture to expand his string instrument business led him to London in 1939. But it was the beginning of World War II, so Roderich was forced to remain in the United Kingdom, which benefited him the most. A few years after the war, he re-established their family bow-making business in Bubenreuth in 1950. His reputation went far beyond the borders of Germany.
Roderich Paesold’s workshop became the learning place for many important bow makers. W. Schreiber & Sons took over the Paesold Company in 1968, and in 1981 it was integrated into the Boosey and Hawkes group. During those times, Paesold had been making high-quality, world-class string instruments.
The traditional master workshop returned to the family ownership in December 2004. Paesold products became available to leading musicians around the world thanks to worldwide sales distribution
