Mazas, Jacques Féréol
Jacques-Féréol Mazas was a violinist and composer from France. In 1802, he enrolled in the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied under Baillot and won the first violin prize in 1805. On 18 March 1804, he performed a Viotti concerto at a pupils' concert, and on 10 May 1807, he gave the first of several performances of Auber's new concerto and the Conservatoire.
