Danse espagnole (Spanish Dance) for violin and piano by De Falla (Schott) from the opera "La vida breve"
Edited by Fritz Kreisler
Manuel de Falla is regarded as the greatest Spanish composer of the 20th century. He wrote the opera La vida breve (Spanish for The Brief Life or Life is short) between August 1904 and March 1905. It was not staged until 1913. At only an hour in length, the complete opera is seldom performed now. However, this arrangement of Danse espagnole by Fritz Kreisler remains very popular in the violinist's repertoire.
