Fantasia in D minor (level 5)
A work for the more advanced string ensemble. A rhythmical opening that features both left and right pizzicato, as well as harmonics. The 2nd more sonorous theme is introduced by the Cello and Viola sections. The 3rd theme builds in speed and excitement, and is an opportunity for the 1st and 2nd Violin sections to shine. This piece is challenging, however when played well it is sure to be a show-stopper!
