Camillio Manricks, Blue Gum Creek for String Orchestra
This piece starts with the lower strings in the Moderato that has a nice flowing feel about it. The use of the 4th finger and half position are encouraged in the violins and viola, as in the 3rd posiion in the celllo. The Allegro section with the calm smooth melodic line over an exciting rhythum is in complete contrast to earlier section, and as usual, all sections have something interesting to say, before returning to the free flowing creek that is Blue Gum.
