Il Cannone A string is based on a new synthetic multi-filament core wound with precision-rolled flat aluminium wire.

Il Cannone strings possess nobility, power, and a biting tone that delivers a real punch. Their sound is rich in intricate harmonics and clear, open, and brilliant, making it enchanting. 

These strings respond quickly and easily, particularly in spiccato strokes. They are specifically designed to bring out the best in your violin. The Medium variant has moderate tension with an open, colourful, projecting, richer, and powerful sound, whereas the Soloist variant produces a fuller tone with even more presence and focus. 

During the development phase of Il Cannone's violin strings with musicians, Larsen identified two trends in terms of player response. One group of violinists preferred the directness and focus of a set using one prototype A, while the other group chose the warmer and broader feel of an alternative A variant.
