This French violin is more than a hundred and forty years old, a well-reconditioned 18th-century old violin. This is one of many of Animato Strings' largest selections of new and old stringed instruments in Australia, including Asian-hand-made, European, U.S., Australian, and Antique stringed instruments. Added to the list are the original Animato String brands.
This violin was made under the supervision of French violin maker Paul Jombar in Paris in the year 1920. Paul Jombar is a French violin maker born in Saint-Quentin. He set up his own workshop in 1892 at 20, rue Rochechouart in Paris.
This violin is a replica of Antonio Stradivarius's famous instrument, the Strad CX Special Edition Violin 2012, made for Animato Strings Australia. Antonio Stradivari, an Italian violin maker born in 1644, is known for his valuable violins. Animato Strings offers a wide range of new and antique instruments, including Asian-handcrafted and European instruments and violins, violas, cellos, and double basses from various countries. This violin is a Guarneri Model Made in Germany in about 1925. Guarneri and Stradivari were both an apprentice of Nicolo Amati whose instruments were coveted by many collectors and prominent violin players.
This is an antique German violin estimated to be from around 1880. It does not bear a label and features an imitated neck graft with a well-executed sound post-repair on the top plate. This is a Labelled Jago Peternella Violin made in 1919. Jago Peternella (1886 – 1970) is a Venitian violin maker and violinist. He was said to have learned his violin-making skills from Giulio Degani in Venice which can be seen in his instruments by his choice of materials and workmanship.
