This Stradivari pattern model is entirely hand-crafted from select-tone woods. The top is made from select spruce with a highly flamed maple back, ribs, and scroll. The boxwood pegs, tailpiece, and chinrest with ebony trim are hand-carved, and its antique-style spirit varnish is applied by hand.

Norwegian folk violin music is primarily associated with the Hardanger fiddle, a national instrument with 8-9 strings, four/five of which are bowed and the rest are sympathetic strings that resonate and add overtones. This is a French JTL Virtuoso Violin Copy (c 1900) of Francisco Ruggieri dated 1671. Ruggieri was a skilled instrument maker from a renowned family of luthiers in Cremona, Italy. JTL represents Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy & Cie, a French musical instrument manufacturing company established by Louis Emile Jérôme Thibouville and Marguerite Hyacinthe Lamy in the early 1900s.
