Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Violin Concertos Nos. 3, 4, 5 for Violin and Piano Reduction, with cadenzas by Sam Franko (Nos. 3 and 5), Eduard Herrmann (No. 4) and Joseph Joachim (Nos. 4 and 5). Published by Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics.
The String Quintet No. 1 in B flat major, K. 174, was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in December 1773. Unlike Mozart's other viola quintets which are scored for two violins, two violas and cello- this early work is scored for two violins, two violas and basso.
Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola, and Orchestra in E-flat major, K. 364 (320d), was composed in 1779 during his tour of Europe. This piece is a cross-over of symphony and concerto and showcases Mozart's exceptional musical talent. The piece's three movements are filled with intricate melodies, harmonies, and rhythms that demonstrate the complexity and depth of the composition. Its average performance time is half an hour.
K218 is an excellent Mozart Violin Concerto resulting from the collaboration of three experts. Cliff Eisen edited it, Andrew Manze contributed authentic cadenzas, and Werner Breig created an easy-to-play piano reduction.
