There has long been a need for a practical and easily accessible volume such as this.
The contents of this edition were developed from suggestions of the German Music Council and is based on statistical surveys of the German Orchestra Association (DOV) and on the longtime professional experience gained by the editors themselves, all of whom are members of orchestras and conservatory teachers.
This volume contains extracts for the viola that assist greatly in preparing for auditions and becoming accustomed to the orchestral literature for the instrument.
