Transcribed by Jan Kubelik and edited by Vilmos Tatrai
Zdeněk Fibich (21 December 1850 – 15 October 1900) was a Czech composer.
His Poème was derived from a series of piano sketches that have been referred to as diaries. This piece was described in th 1980 edition of the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians as "a slightly over-sweet, poignant melodic idiom". He drew several themes from these sketches to use in his operas and in his beautiful Piano Quintet.
