According to Eric Blot, this is a copy of violins by award-winning Italian luthier Gaetano Pareschi, whose working life spanned 50 years, from 1924 to 1974. A practitioner of the Ferrarese violinmaking style, he favoured a half-external form, wide purfling and deep-cut grooves encircling the scroll. Once an orchestral musician, Pareschi's appreciation for orchestral string instruments was realised in producing approximately 200 violins, 20 violas and cellos, and three double bases.
