Manby Violin c 1920 with a fretted fingerboard

The Manby violin company sold violins that had been modified with a patented incised fingerboard (somewhat like frets).  Many Manby violins have had the fingerboard swapped out.

This Manby violin still has its original incised fingerboard.  This special fingerboard is helpful for violin students to learn finger positions and shifting.

This Violin is of the highest quality, crafted by Manby - who has workshops in Italy, London, New York, Paris, Melbourne and Sydney.

The label inside the Violin reads ' Manby Violin - An Exact Copy of a Stradivarius'
