Vasile Gliga was born in Ibănești in Mureș County, Romania in April 3 1959. He is the owner and founder of a Romanian enterprise called the Gilga group which was started in 1990. They manufacture stringed instruments such as violins, cellos, and violas in Reghin, Romania. In around 2001, they opened a branch in Pasadena, California, USA. In 2008 Vasile Gliga was elected to the Parliament of Romania.

A violin made and labelled in 1917 by Leandro Bisiach (1864 – 1945) of Milan, an Italian violin maker born in Casale Monferratos, known as the father of violin makers in the Bisiach family.

A violin labelled 'Giuseppe Giacchetti 1933 Roma'. However, the label has not been authenticated. This violin may be a copy of Giacchetti but the age is consistent with the appearance (1930's).
