Far From Home For String Orchestra Grade 2 by Keith Sharp
"Far From Home" is a beautiful piece of music composed by Keith Sharp and designed for a string orchestra. The piece has a wistful and lilting melody lasting approximately 1.45 minutes. It is suitable for players at a Grade 2 level and allows your less advanced players to explore the rich G-string sounds.
The harmony/descant and bass parts are optional, as the melody and piano parts form the backbone of the structure. Once all the string parts are covered, the piano part becomes optional, too.
There is also an optional vocal line but be prepared for a sad tale. This flexible and accessible piece is hauntingly beautiful and will be a great addition to your ensemble library.
